I interned at Intuitive Surgical during the summer of 2023. I worked Ion New Product Development team designing bonding and encapsulation methods for the next generation of Ion instruments. Ion is a soft robotic catheter that navigates in the lungs of patients to perform biopsy and therapy. However, some of the skills I developed during work include the design of experiments, design of fixtures and apparatus, tensile testing with Instron, surface finish analysis with Keyence laser microscopes, design of molds for epoxy, developing 2um fiber laser welding recipe, observing in vivo clinical lab, and making business presentation to drive product development decisions.
